The aim of this blog is to discuss local, national and international news, issues and ideologies. I am the Labour Party’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of Guildford for the 2015 general election. I’m a 43-year old community activist and airline pilot living in Surrey, UK.
I stood as the Labour Party candidate on 2 May 2013 in the Surrey County Council election for the division of Bagshot, Windlesham and Chobham. I have previously been the Labour candidate in 3 parish council by-elections (2 of which I forced to happen) and one borough council election, all within Surrey. I was the sub-agent for the Labour Police and Crime Commissioner candidate for this area on 15 Nov 2012.
My main interests and pastimes are: politics, current affairs, reading, classic cars, canvassing, watching football and cricket, Radio 4, Twitter, the environment, flying light aircraft, the NHS, travel, 38 Degrees, Radio 3, economics, leafleting, art galleries and museums, campaigning, fighting prejudice and listening to The Archers.
If elected as Guildford’s next MP in May I will resign from my job as an airline captain straight away.
