38 Degrees NHS Petition Part 2

Yesterday evening a group of us delivered the 38 Degrees NHS petition to Surrey Heath Clinical Commissioning Group. The Chief Officer, Dr Andy Brooks, talked to us in his office in Camberley and answered questions about the CCG. He received the petition of 229 signatures of local patients and our request for changes to their constitution.

It’s great that people will come out at short notice on a cold evening to show how important the NHS is. There are few other institutions which are loved in this way by such a wide range of people. We need to ensure that only ethical providers of healthcare are used and the organisation is transparent and involves the public.

I’m very hopeful that the CCG will adopt all of the proposed changes since I believe the board of the CCG will share our objectives. I’ll report back in a month or so when we hear their decision. In the meantime if you would like to join the email group for Surrey Heath 38 Degrees members, email me, richard_wilson@hotmail.com and I’ll pass it on to the person running it.
